Rexium Clinical was developed within Skin & Vision Clinics for ophthalmic and cosmetic care. The same flexible structure allows the system to be tailored to other medical specialties as well.
Care determines how the system is configured – not the other way around.
Insured and self-pay care
Independent clinics may provide insured care, self-pay care or a combination of both.
Rexium Clinical can be configured around these different care and payment pathways.
For self-pay care, we support the process from appointment and treatment through to billing.
For insured care, registration can be aligned with the administrative requirements of the specialty and connect to Rexium Declaraties for further processing of DBC and claims data.
This helps keep clinical registration and administrative processing within one coherent workflow wherever possible.
Handling patient data securely
An EHR contains sensitive medical information. Privacy, information security and auditable access are therefore considered throughout the development and further configuration of Rexium Clinical.
Our approach is aligned with relevant requirements for healthcare in the Netherlands, including:
- privacy by design and privacy by default;
- roles and access authorisation;
- logging and auditability;
- secure processing and exchange of data;
- backup and continuity;
- risk management;
- periodic review and technical testing.
Our approach is guided by the GDPR and relevant NEN standards for information security in healthcare.

Developed from clinical practice
Rexium Clinical was created from the day-to-day practice of Skin & Vision Clinics.
As a medical and operational team, we experienced first-hand the limitations, complexity and costs of multiple healthcare systems.
Together with IT, we therefore started developing from one central question:
What does a healthcare professional really need to organise high-quality care efficiently, securely and clearly?
